Fall Jellybeans Production

Grades K-2

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a family musical adapted from Mark Twain’s beloved novel and specially commissioned by The Random Farms Kids’ Theater. In the story, Tom meets and falls in love with Becky Thatcher. However, Becky’s father, Judge Thatcher, does not approve of Becky fraternizing with a mischievous boy like Tom. Tom prevails when he secretly takes Becky’s punishment for her after she spills ink on the schoolmaster’s prized book of verses. Then, he returns home from a pirate adventure, unwittingly returning the stolen treasure to its rightful owner.

View Each Group’s Full Schedule Here

For sessions 2-9: Each child is permitted one absence and 2 shadows. Session 1 (role placement) does not count towards our attendance policy since no material is being taught. Additional absences or shadows due to illness will be permitted solely at the discretion of the director.

For session 10 and 11: Children are required to attend and participate in (and may not shadow, arrive late to, or leave early from) our two mandatory rehearsals. These rehearsals include the dress rehearsal (session 10), and the final dress/performance (session 11), all of which are marked as mandatory on the rehearsal schedule. Please make sure to double-check your child’s schedule to ensure their availability for these mandatory rehearsals.

Beginning with our Spring 2022 programming, all rehearsals and performances will be mask-optional. While we will primarily rehearse indoors, the directing staff may choose to hold rehearsal outside our Elmsford studio. Random Farms reserves the right to make any performances/rehearsals mask-mandatory and/or require Covid-19 testing prior to performances should the need arise.

For the protection of your child, other children, and our staff, please do not bring your child to rehearsal if they are sick or have had a fever within the past 48 hours. If your child tests positive for Covid-19 within 5 days of being at a rehearsal or class please inform the senior director. We will then inform the group that someone in the room has tested positive. If your child is notified that they have been exposed to Covid-19 outside of Random Farms, within 5 days of attending a rehearsal or class, please inform the senior director.

$695 – Subsidized tuition
$1,159 – Actual cost tuition

  • Did you know Random Farms is a non-profit and tuition only covers 60% of the cost of putting a child through the program?
  • Our subsidized tuition prices make participating affordable to a more diverse community
  • Please consider paying the actual cost, and everything over the subsidized tuition amount will be a tax-deductible donation! This will help support our outreach efforts, which include providing scholarships, discounted tickets, and free performances to those in need

*Each registrant is also responsible for a $10 processing fee at the time of registration.

While Random Farms will provide the majority of each performer’s costume, participants are responsible for providing their own shoes/tights and undergarments. Any shared costume pieces will be sanitized between wearings. We will send out a detailed costume memo after the program begins.

A limited number of financial aid packages are available. Please view our  Scholarship page for information and application.

Enrollment in this program is first-come, first-served.

There is no cost to join a wait list. If a spot becomes available, we will email you and you can decide at that time if you would like to take it. If we are not able to find a spot for your child in any group, your child will receive priority registration for the next Jellybeans production. That means that you will be given the opportunity to register the day before the program opens to the public. In most cases, this means you will get a spot in your first choice group. To find out where your child is on a wait list (you can join as many as you want, even if you are already in a group), email our registration team at  registrationsupport@randomfarms.com. It is difficult for us to know if/when that will happen, but typically children drop right before the program starts.

The Random Farms Jellybeans schedule is designed to be manageable for families and children. The commitment is just once a week, with only one extra rehearsal right before the show. The mandatory rehearsals leading up to the show are extremely important and ensure that every cast member is comfortable and prepared when it is time to do the show. Performers may not miss or be late for the last two sessions. Performers who miss (or are late to) a mandatory rehearsal, for whatever reason, are not permitted to perform in the show. Please do not sign up for this program if you have conflicts during any of those times.

Please be sure to read our Standard Agreement prior to registering.

Random Farms is not offering refunds or credits unless we are unable to run the program or your group. In that case, credits and refunds will be available for the full value of the subsidized tuition.
